World Health Organization (WHO) officials held a briefing in Geneva, Switzerland, on the coronavirus pandemic. At the start, the WHO director-general said “I am deeply concerned about the rapid escalation and global spread of infection.” He acknowledged that in the next few days the world would reach 1 million confirmed cases and 50,000 deaths from the virus. In addition, the WHO director-general said his organization was evaluating the use of medical face masks at the community level. close
