This special “Washington Journal” primetime edition on the coronavirus pandemic included an interview with a physician who survived a COVID-19 infection, viewer questions for Dr. Anthony Fauci, and an update from a member of Congress. Dr. Michael Saag, an infectious disease physician and professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine, spoke about his own experience fighting the virus and answered viewer questions on the pandemic. Then, Dr. Anthony Fauci joined to answer viewer calls about the pandemic and the federal response to control the spread of the disease. Then, Representative Ami Bera (D-CA) talked about the response to COVID-19 in his California district and his experience as a doctor and medical professor before being elected to the House of Representatives. close
