California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) held a briefing on the state’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. Governor Newsom announced a roadmap to modify the state’s stay-at-home order that would be less restrictive and more focused on individual responsibility. Governor Newsom laid out what Californians could come to find as the new normal: waiters wearing gloves and a mask, disposable menus, and temperature checks before entering a business. He also warned that mass gatherings during summer are still highly unlikely. Governor Newsom did not give a specific date when the new guidelines could be enacted, and instead said they would know more in two weeks. close
