Governor Edwards said the comments were “grossly irresponsible” and he hoped Senator McConnell had a change of heart on the issue and would opt for a more bipartisan solution. At a coronavirus briefing in Baton Rouge, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards (D) responded to comments made by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) suggesting states should declare bankruptcy.
