Dr. Rich Besser of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and former acting director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, talked about the medical community’s efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and some of the numerical milestones passed in regard to infections and deaths caused by the novel coronavirus. He also answered viewer calls and questions.

American Enterprise Institute economist Michael Strain, author of The American Dream Is Not Dead (But Populism Could Kill It), discussed fledgling plans to reopen the nation’s economy. Topics included ways the federal government could best support small and medium-sized businesses throughout the shutdowns, and he spoke with viewers about their economic experiences during the pandemic.

Representative Darin LaHood (R-IL) spoke by phone about the response to COVID-19 in his southern Illinois district, how his family was dealing with the pandemic, and the next steps lawmakers were likely to take in response to the virus. close
