Governor Jay Inslee (D-WA) talked about the coronavirus pandemic response in Washington state, where the nation’s earliest declaration of a statewide emergency was made on February 29, 2020, when the state recorded its first COVID-19-related death. He also responded to viewers' questions on that response as well as unfolding plans to begin reopening businesses in the states.

Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) spoke about the impact of the pandemic on Maryland. He also discussed the Senate planning to reconvene the following Monday and some of his concerns regarding returning to Washington, D.C.

Mike Leavitt, a former Utah Republican governor and George W. Bush Health and Human Services secretary, talked about work he did to help establish pandemic response plans while serving in his cabinet post. close
