The Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee held a hearing on the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the aviation industry. Several airline industry representatives testified, including former Army Secretary Eric Fanning (Obama Adminsitration, 2016-17), the president and CEO of the Aerospace Industries Association. The witnesses discussed the challenges the pandemic has caused the airline and aerospace industries, the relief received by the CARES Act, and why additional aid may be necessary for the industry to survive and to spur the U.S. and global economies. close
