Chinese President Xi Jinping addressed a virtual session of the annual World Health Assembly, hosted by the World Health Organization. He announced that China would provide $2 billion over two years to help countries around the world deal with the coronavirus pandemic and provide support with vaccines. President Xi said China had “acted with openness and transparency” and reported back to the WHO in a “timely fashion” about the COVID-19 outbreak that began in China.
