Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) spoke on the chamber floor about the number of U.S. due to the coronavirus pandemic. He said that he and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi asked President Trump to lower the flags at half-mast at public buildings when the death toll reaches 100,000. He also talked about the Director of National Intelligence nominee.

Following his remarks Majority Whip John Thune (R-SD) spoke about the Director of National Intelligence nominee and responded to Senator Schumer’s remarks about Majority Leader McConnell and the Senate not doing enough legislation in regard to the pandemic. Then, he talked about later the number of deaths in the United States due to the coronavirus and the impact of the pandemic on the health system. close
