The Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Intellectual Property held a hybrid hearing on U.S. copyright law, focusing specifically on the efficacy of the 1998 Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), which outlines notice-and-takedown procedures for website hosts. Witnesses testifying included artists and entertainers, along with internet trade association leaders. Subcommittee Chair Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) said he was working with Ranking Member Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) to improve the DMCA copyright law. close
