Former President Barack Obama participated in a virtual town hall on racial justice and police reform. The event was hosted by My Brother’s Keeper Alliance, a program of the Obama Foundation. This was the first time the former president responded publicly to the death of George Floyd while in police custody and the ongoing nationwide protests that erupted as a result. The former president said that amid tragedy, there is also hope and opportunity for people to act and work for change. He urged cities and police departments to review their use of force policies and make changes. close
