The Korean War began on June 25, 1950, and ended with an armistice agreement about three years later in July 1953. Korean War veteran James Sharp talked about his experience as one of the few African American soldiers in his company while serving as a machine gunner in the U.S. Marines. The Korean War Legacy Foundation conducted this oral history interview with Mr. Sharp in Phoenix, Arizona in 2014. close
