The Atlantic Council hosted a virtual event on the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic on women. Among the speakers was U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues Kelley Currie, who outlined the Trump administration’s economic empowerment agenda, which included expanding efforts to work with overseas partners, enabling women to participate in the economy, and expanding emergency medical leave. Topics discussed included skill-building efforts, insurance issues facing women, gender based violence, and the role of women in the coronavirus pandemic recovery effort. close
