Representative Ted Yoho (R-FL) apologized for what he called the “abrupt manner of the conversation” he had earlier in the week with Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Corte (D-NY) in which he allegedly used expletives to describe her. He said that although the two disagree on policy, “that does not mean we should not be disrespectful.” He added, however, that “the offensive name-calling words attributed to me by the press were never spoken to my colleagues and if they were construed that way, I apologize for their misunderstanding....I cannot apologize for my passion....” Following his remarks Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) responded with his thoughts on the incident.
