White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin spoke briefly with the press after meeting with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to negotiate another round of COVID-19 relief. Though a deal was not agreed upon, Secretary Mnuchin said that the discussions were “the most productive we’ve had to date,” and that “there is still a lot of work to do.” He went on to say it is a priority for the president to deal with the issues of unemployment insurance and rental evictions. close
