They urged Democrats to stand down from the Heroes Act, saying it is not a “viable piece of legislation.” When asked if the additional $600 per week unemployment benefit were to be included in the relief bill, should the bill pass the Senate with President Trump’s support, Senator McConnell said he knew there were Republicans who would not vote for it. He also said he would support whatever is agreed on between Democrats and the president, even if there were elements he does not agree with.
