New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) held a news conference announcing a lawsuit seeking to dissolve the National Rifle Association (NRA). In opening remarks, the attorney general outlined the allegations in the complaint stating, “we found that the NRA instead fostered a culture of non-compliance and disregard for internal controls that led to waste and loss of millions of assets and contributed to the NRA’s current deteriorated financial state.” The lawsuit names the NRA along with current and former leaders including Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre, General Counsel John Frazer, former Chief Financial Officer Woody Phillips and former Chief of Staff Joshua Powell. close
