Former New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu (D) and trumpeter Wynton Marsalis talked about race relations and controversy over historical monuments. They spoke with the Washington Post's Jonathan Capehart. The former mayor talked about his decision to remove Confederate monuments in his city, saying, “If the city wants to live with integrity...those monuments were essentially just a big fat lie.” He later defended the rights of protesters, calling them patriots. “The traitors are the guys that are up on the monument,” he added. close
