The House Education and Labor Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Human Services held a virtual hearing to address the Trump administration’s actions toward gender-based protections, including in education, the workplace, and health care. They discussed the erosion of civil rights protections for LGBTQ students, and how changes to Title IX can have negative consequences for survivors of sexual assault. They also addressed the administration’s perceived disregard for the Supreme Court’s decision in the Bostock case, which ruled that it is impossible to discriminate against a person for being gay or transgender without discriminating based on a person’s sex. close
