British Prime Minister Boris Johnson fielded questions from members in the House of Commons on proposed changes to his government’s plan to exit the European Union (or "Brexit") and the response to the coronavirus pandemic. Deputy Labour Party Angela Rayner stood in for the party’s leader, Keir Starmer, who was self-isolating due to COVID-19. Ms. Rayner pressed the prime minister on coronavirus testing in the U.K., in particular testing challenges in nursing homes. At the top of the session, Prime Minister Johnson commemorated the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower voyage from England that sailed across the Atlantic to North America. close
