House Republican leaders held a briefing to discuss their efforts to pass coronavirus relief legislation. Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) talked about the Republican plan to push for a procedural measure called a discharge petition, which would force the House to vote on emergency aid for small businesses. Leader McCarthy said they would need 20 Democrats to force a vote on a proposal that would extend the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). close
