Historian and author Molly Michelmore discussed her book, Tax and Spend: The Welfare State, Tax Politics, and the Limits of American Liberalism. Professor Michelmore looked at tax policy and American attitudes towards taxes from the end of the New Deal to the 1986 Tax Reform Act. This talk is one in a series with scholars who used records in the National Archives' Center for Legislative Archives for their research. The Center hosted this 2015 event and provided the video. close
