Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Lindsey Graham (R-SC) spoke to reporters during a break in the third day of the Supreme Court confirmation hearing for Judge Amy Coney Barrett. Senator Graham responded to an attack from his Senate race opponent that seized on a comment he made earlier in the hearing about “the good old days of segregation.” Senator Graham said the comment was made with “dripping sarcasm” and that the attack said more about his opponent than him. He was also asked about a Justice Department probe that found no violations of the law regarding “unmasking” allegations made against the Obama administration. “If there’s a report that there’s no violations of the law, I’d like to know that” he said. The senator also said he was pleased with the tone and direction of the hearing. close
