Author Brandon Winford discussed his book, John Hervey Wheeler, Black Banking, and the Economic Struggle for Civil Rights, with a panel of scholars. They examined the role Wheeler played in the civil rights movement in North Carolina through his position as the president of Mechanics and Farmers Bank in the 1950s and 60s.
