The Senate convened to consider Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination to the Supreme Court to replace the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. In a session that lasted from Sunday afternoon, throughout the night, and into Monday night, members on Sunday voted 51-48 in favor of limiting debate on the nomination, with Republican Senators Murkowski (AK) and Collins (ME) voting “no” with all Democrats. The Senate remained in session for 30 hours post-cloture, and then confirmed Judge Barrett by a 52-48 margin Monday evening. close
