Historian Amy Watson talked about British imperialism and the New England Patriot movement in the 1700s. She described the movement’s ideology, discussed why they were involved in the 1745 siege of Louisbourg -- a French port in modern-day Nova Scotia--, and argued that the Patriot movement inspired the American Revolution. Ms. Watson is a research fellow at the Massachusetts Historical Society, which provided this video. close
