Foreign correspondents from the New York Times, CNN and The Economist gathered online for a discussion on how the world views the United States and the global perceptions of the Trump administration. The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace hosted this virtual event, which discussed the United States' place in the world, how the November 3 presidential election was being watched, and whether a Joe Biden presidency could change U.S. leadership and global standing. The panel commented on how a Biden victory would feel like “a return to civilization” and also stressed that under the Trump administration, the United States was viewed as a “broken country” domestically. close
