Representative Richard Armey (R-TX), member of the Joint Economic Committee, chaired a forum sponsored by the House Republican Conference on the economic consequences of the Clinton administration’s budget bill. The economists criticized the President’s bill signed the previous day by President Clinton, saying the package would result in a moribund economy, fewer jobs, and a larger deficit. The speakers responded to questions from members of the audience following their prepared remarks. close
