Attorneys took part in a panel discussion on racial issues involved in jury selection in the American judicial process. The panelists discussed the current process used by the court system to select jury members, and efforts to reform the system in order to obtain juries which more accurately reflect the communities in which the criminal offenses took place. The speakers also discussed the effect of the racial makeup of juries on conviction rates of defendants. Following their prepared remarks, the speakers responded to questions from members of the audience. close
