President Izetbegovic, who met with President Clinton the previous day, spoke in a news conference on the current status of the civil war in the former Yugoslavia. He said he met with President Clinton to ensure U.S. participation in any peace settlement attained by the peace talks taking place in Geneva. He also discussed his meeting with congressional leaders the previous day, and responded to questions from members of the audience following his prepared remarks.
