The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation presented coverage of Canadian party leaders' reactions to the recent announcement to hold national elections on October 25, 1993. Prime Minister Kim Campbell addressed reporters with the election announcement and presented her party’s platform. She answered questions on the national deficit and her plans for alleviating unemployment. Jean Cretien of the Liberal Party presented his party’s platform and answered questions on changes that would take place under the Liberal rule. (Apologies to Jen Cretien, as he was erroneously IDed as Jean Gauthier). Other prospective candidates for the position of Prime Minister also gave their ideas on where they stood on current
nationwide policies and how the nation should be led. close
