U.S. Ambassador to Mexico James Jones spoke to reporters on his efforts to pass the North American Free Trade Agreement and its importance to the United States. He views Mexico as a “partner” and wants to diminish the view that the United States is paternalistic towards them. Questions were asked the ambassador in both English and Spanish, translated into their opposites and the ambassador answered in English. close
