Via remote from New York City, Mr. Updegrave discussed the benefits received by many governors which he believes are unnecessary and extravagant. Among these benefits were state tax-funded pay, pensions, benefits, and other perks. Mr. Updegrave wrote an article for \f2Money\fR Magazine entitled “Stately Splendor: How Our Governors Live It Up,” which investigates these benefits. \f2Money\fR recently surveyed governors' benefits for all 50 states. close
