The Brookings Institution held a virtual discussion on economic and fiscal policy under the incoming Biden administration and 117th Congress. The panelists, which included former Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers and former Federal Reserve Chair Ben Bernanke, talked about inflation, interest rates, national debt, unemployment numbers, and what policy steps the next administration and Congress could take. Many of the panelists agreed that the historically low interest rates present a good opportunity for infrastructure spending in the coming years. close
