Lawmakers held a news conference on Capitol Hill to unveil a bipartisan, bicameral coronavirus pandemic emergency relief proposal. The legislative framework would provide $908 billion in aid and includes a liability provision to temporarily protect businesses from COVID-19 lawsuits. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) called for congressional action on the bill in the coming weeks but said he had not received assurances yet from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) or Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). close
