Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) offered a COVID-19 relief bill aimed at giving direct aid to individuals and families impacted by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The legislation includes $1,200 for individuals, $2,400 for couples, and $500 for children. Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) objected to the measure because of federal debt concerns, saying that the Senate had already spent $3 trillion on relief. Senator Johnson said a more targeted approach was needed. close
