Witnesses testified concerning the North American Free Trade Agreement and its long-term effects on the U.S. economy. REP. Jim Kolbe, R-Arizona testified that NAFTA would reduce tariffs in Mexico and create thousands of U.S. jobs. Owen Beiber , President of the United Auto Workers argued that NAFTA would send U.S. jobs to Mexico. Tom Donahue, AFL-CIO Secretary and Treasurer stated that NAFTA would greatly harm the U.S. economy resulting in the loss of thousands of jobs. Larry Martin, American Apparel Manufacturing Association supported NAFTA. close
