During a briefing on California’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, Governor Gavin Newsom (D) said he expected to extend stay-at-home orders for the southern part of the state due to increased COVID-19 cases. He said a plateau in case numbers in other parts of California were a positive sign that the stay-at-home orders were having their intended effect. The governor also spoke about COVID-19 vaccine distribution plans and warned against health care providers giving vaccines to patients before it was their turn, and discussed the recently-passed coronavirus pandemic relief package and explained how funds would be used in California. close
