The House and Senate convened for a joint session of Congress to verify certificates and count Electoral College votes from each state for president and vice president of the United States. The joint session withdrew when Republicans objected to the Electoral College votes in Arizona. Each house retired to their respective chambers to deliberate on the objection and was to report back their decision to the joint session. close
