President-elect Biden commented on the violence at the U.S. Capitol, calling on President Trump to go on national television and demand an end the “siege.” He added that democracy was under an “unprecedented assault” and the scenes at the Capitol did not reflect the true America. The president-elect was originally scheduled to deliver remarks on jobs and the economy. As he was walking off the stage, he came back to respond to a reporters' question, saying that he was not worried about safety and security at the inauguration. close
