During a news conference, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) said the city would cancel three contracts it has with the Trump Organization, citing as a breach of contract President Trump’s statements to a group who later attacked the U.S. Capitol on January 6. The mayor also called on the federal government to release more COVID-19 vaccines, warning the city would run out of supply in the next week. Mayor de Blasio also discussed several cases of the new COVID-19 variant that had been found in New York state, two of which were in the city. close
