Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) held a briefing on her state’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. Other topics discussed included COVID-19 vaccine distribution and vaccinations, the U.K.'s new strain, and resources for small businesses and restaurants struggling from the effects of the virus due to closures. Governor Whitmer also addressed the potential for armed and violent protests January 17 at the state’s capitol and across the nation before Joe Biden’s inauguration.
