Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar marked the nearly 400,000 lives lost to the coronavirus pandemic with a moment of remembrance and silence during his virtual farewell address to the agency. He said many of the lives lost were employees. He highlighted the work of everyone within the department, including the those at the National Institutes of Health and Public Health Service Commission Corp to combat the deadly virus. Secretary Azar also mentioned other priorities such as tackling health care costs, the opioid epidemic, and youth use of e-cigarettes. close
