The Brookings Institution held a virtual discussion analyzing proposed changes to the structure of the Supreme Court and federal courts from lawmakers and outside groups. Former Attorney General Eric Holder who served under President Obama advocated for three reforms: term limits for judges and justices, a minimum age requirement of 50 years old for judges, and ensuring more diversity among judges with respect to race and ethnicity and professional experiences. Following his remarks a panel of legal experts debated the pros and cons of making changes to the federal courts makeup. close
