Day 2 of the impeachment trial of former President Trump for incitement of insurrection continued with the attorneys for former President Donald Trump, Bruce Castor and David Schoen, arguing their case against the constitutionality of the trial. House Impeachment Manager Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) followed with closing remarks. At the conclusion, senators voted 56-44 in favor of proceeding with the trial. Republican Senators Bill Cassidy (LA), Lisa Murkowski (AK), Susan Collins (ME), Pat Toomey (PA), Mitt Romney, and Ben Sasse (NE) voted “aye” along with all Democrats. close
