Educators participated in a virtual discussion on the impact of online learning for elementary and middle school students during the coronavirus pandemic. Two teachers and two administrators explained the challenges they have faced trying to engage students in a virtual setting and some of the difficulties students have faced while trying to learn online. They also talked about some of the silver linings of teaching during the pandemic, which included better engagement with parents and discovering new ways to use technology to improve education in the future. The discussion also considered ways to address an achievement gap created by digital learning. close
