Virginia Coleman was a chemist for the Manhattan Project in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. In an interview conducted by the Atomic Heritage Foundation, she recalled her journey to join the secretive project to develop the atomic bomb and described social life at the site as well as her career as a social worker following World War II. The “Voices of the Manhattan Project” oral history collection was created by the Atomic Heritage Foundation and is managed by the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History. close
