Sara Nelson, the international president for the Association of Flight Attendants, spoke about the the Payroll Support Program, calling it a lifeline for airline workers and the industry. She said if that program were to lapse, the resulting furloughs would dwarf what the industry saw at the beginning of the pandemic, potentially forcing many airlines to shutter.
