The defense team for former President Donald Trump spoke with reporters after the Senate voted to acquit the former president. Thanking the senators who voted to acquit, they said that they had a constitutional duty to represent their client. They also said it was time to unite the country and that the media needs to stop “feeding the anger on both sides.” Failing to reach the two-thirds majority needed, the vote to impeach Mr. Trump was 57-43, which included seven Republicans joining the Democrats in favor of conviction. close
