New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) held a briefing in Albany on the states ongoing response to the coronavirus pandemic. After providing updated COVID-19 numbers, announcing that the rate of infection had gone down in the state, the governor addressed the recent allegations of harassment and inappropriate behavior made against him. Governor Cuomo said that “I fully support a women’s right to come forward, and I think it should be encouraged in every way,” and that he “never touched anyone inappropriately.” He apologized for the hurt he caused and asked that people wait for the facts from the state attorney general’s investigation before forming an opinion. When asked if he would resign, the governor said, “I’m not going to resign. I work for the people of New York. They elected me.” close
